Vincent eco-designed this extremely warm 3-in-1 jacket to help kids adjust the warmth of the jacket to easily protect themselves from the cold in autumn and winter.Is your kid an adventurer even in cold weather? Using the 3-in-1 system

To combine the jacket and fleece, there are loops in the collar and on the fleece’s cuffs. Inside the jacket, in the same places, there are tabs that fit into the loops.
This is how the jacket and fleece become one.

How will this jacket keep my kid warm?

We carry out a comparative study in a thermal laboratory in walking conditions in light winds (5 km/h).
The comfort temperature is the calculated air temperature where 70% of users have a “slightly warm” thermal sensation.
For this jacket, it’s -10,5°C.
However every individual feels the cold differently.

Fleece component: Insulation provided by air

The fleece component is designed to trap air in the space formed by its texture. This air acts as a natural insulator, keeping the body warm. It is the brushing of the knit fabric that traps the air.

WATERPROOFNESS OF THIS JACKET

The waterproofness of a jacket isn’t limited to just its components: the assembly technique of the different parts is also an evaluation criterion.
Whether heat-sealed or sewn then waterproofed, the overall waterproofness of your jacket is measured using a shower test developed by Decathlon, which simulates rain of different intensities.
As such, this waterproof jacket protects you from a downpour, i.e. 12 cm of rain in 2 hours.

WATERPROOFING OF THE COMPONENTS OF THIS JACKET

The waterproofness of a fabric, provided by a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H²0 (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric.
This jacket has a waterproof component (JIS 1092 standard) resistant to 5,000 mm H²O (Schmerbers) before washing.

What is the meaning of: “100% taped seams”?

Your jacket is waterproof thanks to the fully taped seams. Waterproof tape is added to the seams inside the garment to make them watertight so that water cannot enter through the more vulnerable areas.
We validated the waterproofing with a shower test specially designed to replicate the conditions of a two-hour shower. We also wore it in the field in all weather conditions to make sure that it is suited to your activities.

How to preserve the technical qualities of my jacket?

A fabric’s water repellent property is its capacity to make water run off its surface without seeping in. This prevents the fabric from soaking up water and keeps it lightweight, warm and breathable. The water repellent property is achieved by treating the fabric’s exterior. This treatment must be renewed throughout the garment’s lifespan (recommended after each wash). Products (spray or liquid) for this purpose are available in our stores.

How to dress properly for snow hiking?

To dress properly in winter, whatever your activity, we recommend using the 3-layer principle:
layer 1: The high-tech base layer transfers moisture away from the body to keep your skin dry.
layer 2: The second layer (fleece, sweater) provides warmth and transfers moisture outwards.
layer 3: The jacket protects you from the outdoor conditions: rain, snow, wind.
The whole outfit must be breathable in order to eliminate moisture.

Windproof:

The fabric is made waterproof and windproof by applying a coating or membrane to the inside. Indeed, a waterproof fabric has the necessary technical characteristics to be considered windproof. Wind protection is very important because of the significant chill effect that wind can have on the body, whether you are active or at rest.

2 secure hand pockets in the jacket + 1 mesh inner pocket. 1 secure inner phone pocket in the fleece. 1 adjustable, waterproof and padded attached hood.

Will my jacket withstand regular use over the long-term?

To ensure the durability of our products, we perform tests on components: resistance to rubbing and abrasion, colour fastness, resistance to repeated washing. All these tests have been carried out on the component on this jacket.

How does my product warranty work?

This product is guaranteed for 2 years from the date shown on the sales receipt. A product covered by the warranty will be exchanged free of charge. The warranty covers product defects, excluding those resulting from normal wear and tear and improper use.
