The waterproofing of a fabric, created using a coating or membrane, is measured in Schmerber or mm H2O (pressure exerted by a column of water). The higher this number, the more waterproof the fabric is.

The waterproofing of a jacket doesn’t end with the waterproofing of its components: The assembly technique used to bring the various pieces together is also an assessment criterion.

Whether it’s thermo-glued or stitched then sealed, the overall waterproofing of your jacket is measured using a shower test, developed by Decathlon, which simulates rain of various intensities.

This way, you can be assured that the TRAVEL 900 WARM will keep your protected from a storm, or 30 cm of rain over 3 hours.
